GATSBY 2000 AT ITC PARK SHERATON, ALWARPET
Now known as Gatsby 2000, this one undoubtedly tops the list! They say Dublin never disappoints, and the place is packed every night of the week. ITC’s Irish themed property is a perfect blend of groovy décor, good music and great ambience – all of which makes it one of Chennai’s best nightclubs. The resident DJ’s Rudy and Prashanth Amir play the best of Progressive, Commercial House, Trap and Bollywood, and create a phenomenal atmosphere every evening. Do try their amazing concoctions especially the Desi Vodka Martini (Rs 600) and Long Island Ice Tea (Rs 1,100)

PASHA AT THE PARK, NUNGAMBAKKAM
A complete no-nonsense party destination, Pasha has clearly set a benchmark for our nightlife culture. Wednesdays here are all about Desi Dhamaka with Bollywood hits, while on other nights you can expect Retro or even Hip Hop and Trance beats playing loudly. Park Martini with Vodka (Rs 550) and Tai Chi Chilli Vodka (Rs 550)

THE FLYING ELEPHANT AT PARK HYATT, VELACHERY
The upscale and electric atmosphere of this chic nightclub is an instant hit with loyalists. If it’s your first visit, don’t forget to check out their den, living room and terrace areas. Both homegrown and international DJ’s and artists are known to play here regularly. The emphasis though is on paying tribute to the days of Motown and Classic Pop along with Pop and Retro Rock. Do not forget to try their in-house specials of Happily Ever After (Rs 700) and Fallen Angel (Rs 700).
Why we love it: The crowd, the varied playlist and their efficient service.

Pocket friendly and casual, Illusions is a great pub and is often crowded with local celebrities. The ideal destination for budget conscious late-night crowds, they offer great deals and play a lot of progressive Rock, Techno and EDM by renowned guest DJ’s. They have dedicated Bollywood Nights, Rock Nights and Hip Hop Nights as well. As far their drinks are concerned, their 1000 Lights (Rs 395) and Energetic Elliot (Rs 375) are our top picks.
Why we love it:  Amazing ambience with LED lights and a spacious dance floor.

THE LEATHER BAR AT THE PARK, NUNGAMBAKKAM
The Leather Bar is one of the most premium destinations for club-goers in the city. Although a little overpriced, it makes up for those exorbitant prices with a buzzing crowd, fab music and great ambience as well some excellent cocktails. The rich black leather floor blends into olive suede walls whereas the outdoor terrace offers the perfect ambience to unwind with a Martini in hand. They host regular house nights throughout the week including Rock N Roller Wednesdays with DJ Wayne and Thirsty Tuesdays apart from renowned DJ’s like Arnold Misquitta, Sapta, Nischay Parekh and Carlo Ruetz manning their decks regularly. Try out their refreshing Cilantro Margarita (Rs 500) and Melon Bellini (Rs 500).

BLEND AT TAJ CLUB HOUSE, THOUSAND LIGHTS
Blend is one of the coolest places in Chennai to hang out at. A perfect retreat for the city’s hip and happening crowd, the décor has an international appeal and the pulsating music is an added bonus. Before you blend in, don’t forget to try out their house blends and pineapple shots. The Classic Beer Margarita (Rs 550) and Metropolitan (Rs 550) are a must try.
Why we love it: The international feel and fun crowd.

Located right in the hub of the city, 10 Downing Street is a wonderful joint decked in an old style boutique building. This bar is all about the music with live nights as well as Ladies Nights every Wednesday and Karaoke Nights every Thursday.  If you are looking to break free, try the Tequila shots and Jagermeister (Rs 400) or go for their lime-based cocktails (Rs 600) or stick to the good old Kingfisher beer (pint for Rs 260).
